7769730 Stops Rust Flat Rusty Metal Primer, 1/2 Pint

Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Flat Rusty Metal Primer is a specialized coating designed to bond tightly to heavily rusted steel, creating a stable foundation for topcoats. This primer stops rust and prevents corrosion, making it essential for restoring and protecting metal that has already begun to deteriorate. It is formulated specifically for use on heavily rusted metal and works for both indoor and outdoor applications.

The formula addresses a common painting challenge: heavily rusted metal requires a primer that can penetrate and bond where standard coatings often fail. Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Rusty Metal Primer bonds directly to oxidized surfaces, forming a sound base that topcoats can adhere to securely. This strong adhesion helps prevent chipping, cracking, and peeling in the finished paint job.

Features and Benefits

• Bonds Tightly to Rust: Forms a stable foundation on heavily rusted steel where topcoats need secure adhesion.
• Prevents Corrosion: Stops rust and protects metal from further oxidation and deterioration.
• Superior Topcoat Adhesion: The primer's film-forming ability promotes stronger enamel adhesion, reducing the risk of chipping, cracking, and peeling.
• Designed for Heavily Rusted Metal: Formulated specifically for use on heavily rusted surfaces rather than clean or lightly rusted metal.
• Easy Application: Compatible with standard painting equipment, from hand brushes to spray rigs.
