Local Delivery from Busy Beaver

I had never stepped foot into a Busy Beaver until August 6, 2026, when I stopped in after a thrifting trip to the Goodwill next door. Inspired to create unique outdoor projects from upcycled glass, I went there to find appropriate weatherproof adhesive. Upon entering, Amanda greeted me and asked what she could help me find, and when I explained, she went right to an AI app on her phone to help me learn what the best option for my project would be. She then walked me to the aisle I needed, told me her personal preference, explained the differences between the adhesives, etc. Amanda asked me questions about what I was creating, sheerly (I could tell!) out of her own curiosity and interest; she was friendly, VERY helpful, and even funny as we conversed. On our way to the register, she directed me to check out items on the half off table, none of which I bought, but there was no pressure at all. I even made a joke that I need to build an addition to house all the stuff I've been buying lately, and she said, "We can help you with that!" Overall, my feeling about Amanda was that she generally cares about helping people and she enjoys her job. She exudes these traits. At the checkout, I was greeted with a hug from a teenage former student of mine, Ivy. I've known for a few years that Ivy is an exceptional young lady, and based on my experience with her in my English class, this store is lucky to have her! Nathan, another teenage employee, checked me out with my 3 adhesives. At the register, he asked me if I'd like to purchase a tarp on sale for $3, and I declined at first, but then reconsidered because I'm taking a trip to the Poconos to visit family this weekend, and we will be taking my husband's truck so we can take bikes; thinking of the upcoming rain, I explained to Nathan that scenario and explained that maybe the tarp would come in handy to cover our things in the bed of the truck. As he rang up my items, he told me about family members of his who like the Poconos, he asked what we would be doing in addition to biking etc. He was so personable, kind, and attentive. He even told me "Have a great trip this weekend!" as I left. As someone whose career involves spending a LOT of time with teens (and as a person who has two teen children of her own), I could immediately tell he was a great kid. So often, we have complimentary thoughts about a person or experience and share them with family and friends in regular conversation, but the praise (unfortunately) never gets back to the deserving people. I know this is a long review, but I want to make sure my appreciation for my pleasant interactions with EVERYBODY at this Busy Beaver are known! I left feeling like this is a "small town" store in which I received personal service. I also witnessed several other employees whose names I don't know helping another customer with her fencing needs - it was impressive to see the support offered on all accounts. I will definitely make the Delmont Busy Beaver my preferred hardware store in the future. Based on today's experience, they have an amazing staff!
