7769502 Stops Rust Flat Rusty Metal Primer, 1 Qt.

Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Flat Rusty Metal Primer is an oil-based coating engineered to stop rust and prevent further corrosion on heavily rusted metal surfaces. This primer bonds tightly to rust, creating a stable base that top coats can adhere to reliably. It is ideal for both indoor and outdoor projects where rust has already taken hold on steel, iron, or previously painted metal.

Unlike primers designed for clean metal, this formula is specifically formulated to work on heavily rusted surfaces, halting corrosion at its source and extending the life of outdoor furniture, automotive parts, industrial equipment, and other metal structures. The flat matte finish provides a non-reflective surface for paint application, preparing the metal for top coats while hiding surface imperfections.

Features and Benefits

• Oil-based formula: Designed to stop rust before it starts on heavily corroded surfaces.
• Bonds to rust: Forms a tight adhesive bond directly to rusted metal, creating a surface top coats can adhere to without peeling or flaking.
• Flat matte finish: Provides a non-reflective base suitable for both indoor and outdoor metal projects.
• Fast drying: Allows you to move from primer to paint application quickly and minimize project downtime.
• For heavily rusted metal: Formulated specifically for metal that has already begun to rust, not for clean or lightly rusted surfaces.
