The Carlon E987RR is a PVC molded junction box designed for surface mounting electrical installations. This enclosure allows multiple conduits to be connected and wire splices to be made safely within a protective housing. It provides a degree of protection against contact with enclosed equipment, falling dirt, hose-directed water, entry of water during prolonged submersion at a limited depth, and external ice formation.
The junction box is manufactured from PVC thermoplastic molding compound, which offers corrosion resistance and the physical properties needed for direct burial applications. It is suitable for indoor or outdoor use and may be concrete encased or buried, though it is not warranted or listed to be watertight in all circumstances.
